Welcome to STARS.


We are a friendly and creative group who enjoy all things textile related and welcome everyone from beginners to experienced textile artists. Anyone interested in textiles and embroidery can be a member; no qualifications or expertise is required, and no-one is required to actually stitch, just to be interested in embroidery.

Monthly talks

STARS members meet on the first Thursday of each month in the evening in a hall near

Bury St. Edmunds. Occasionally we meet on Zoom.

STARS 2

We are a sub-group of members who enjoy informal textile play and experimentation.  We meet in person or on Zoom.

STARS 3

We are a sub-group of members who want informal guidance on hand embroidery techniques; meeting in person or communicating via WhatsApp.

Workshops

As a group we aim to offer at least 2 workshops per year.  We try to offer a range of different techniques.  Workshops are offered by well known textile artists as well as by our own members.  Browse our programme to find out more.
