About Us

STARS is an independent stitch and textile art group, set up in April 2021.

 

We are a friendly and creative group who enjoy all things textile related and welcome everyone from beginners to experienced textile artists. Anyone interested in textiles and embroidery can be a STARS member; no qualifications or expertise is required, and no-one is required to do actual stitchwork - just to be interested in embroidery and textile art.

The group is based just outside Bury St Edmunds.

Our members come from all around Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex and Cambridgeshire.

​

Many STARS members were members of the former Suffolk West Embroiderers’ Guild branch which had been running successfully for four years. We were delighted to be able to set up STARS as an independent stitch and textile group.  We have an active a committee, members of which organise the programme, welcome new members, host workshop tutors and administrate the group's activities - see Committee here. We hope that you will enjoy coming to our meetings, whether in person or on Zoom, learning new skills, sharing your creativity and making new friends.
